COSTA RICA!!

¡Hola! Our American CIG family have completed our second American Culture Event in Costa Rica!.

On Saturday, we held our second American Culture Event in Costa Rica! Together as missionaries from Korean, Japan, and America, we were able to have 15 guests come to our event with five of them attending a CARP event for the first time!

For our event, we focused on sharing the theme of original value. For our event, we wanted to help others understand that we are all unique individuals and that it is the qualities within us such as our character, selflessness, honesty, sincerity, integrity, humor, and ultimately, our hearts, which make us who we are. It’s important for all of us to have a positive attitude within ourselves.

We began our American Culture Event with introducing ourselves and playing “Barcos y Marineros”, or in English, “Ships and Sailors”! It was a great way to lighten up the environment, and everyone enjoyed playing the game!

our team prepared a dance to help open the hearts of the guests and prepare them for what came next!

towards the end of the event we broke into our small little families and created the space for one another to share openly and honestly about our topic of "Original Value" and discuss over some deeper and more personal questions that we had prepared.

Additionally, on Wednesday evening, we participated and listened to a round table discussion on the topic of homosexuality, an issue that has been prevalent in the recent presidential election in Costa Rica. We listened to the opinions and thoughts of CARP members as they shared about homosexuality. Our CARP Costa Rica President, Sr. Manho, shared about scientific research and statistics on living a homosexual lifestyle, and Sra. Daisy shared about homosexuality from the viewpoint of God and Divine Principle.

although the topic of homosexuality can sometimes be tough to share openly about, we as a CARP family were able to create a space where the guests and current CARP members could feel free to share about their opinions knowing that they were in an environment of love and support,
