Founders

Our founders, Sun Myung Moon and Hak Ja Han were born in Korea during a time of extreme hardships and poverty, under Japanese occupation. They learned to overcome injustice, and rose out of these circumstances with a heart to forgive, and to share a vision of peace with all of humanity. They've spent their whole lives teaching that within every person lies an innate sensitivity to God and a desire to strive towards goodness. As missionaries we have learned from Rev. and Mrs. Moon that the best ways to love and serve God is to love and serve each individual as a unique and valuable expression of God, and to spread God's word to His children, our brothers and sisters around the world.

Our Mission

The Cheon Il Guk Missionary program started in Korea, and has spread worldwide. The phrase Cheon Il Guk means “One Heavenly Kingdom.” As their contribution to peace and unity worldwide, Cheon Il Guk Missionaries have worked in Japan, Russia, and France, Albania, Cote D'vore (Ivory Coast), Phillipines, and many other countries.

We strive to live for the sake of others and share a love that gives joyfully and unconditionally. This kind of “agape” or unselfish true love is the kind of love we see expressed from a parent to their child and between brothers and sisters. Together as one family under God we are working to dissolve barriers of race, overcome national boundaries and transcend even differences of religion to reach out to others with a heart to serve.

The Bible says in 1 John 3:18 "Dear children, let us not love with words and speech but with actions and in truth." It's with this type of mindset that we venture into the world hoping to make a change.

Then when you are pursuing your mission, ready to fight your way through all difficulties, you will suddenly find that God is already there before you, having prepared everything for you and paved the way ahead of you.
