CIGs: Back In Business!

Hello everyone, we’re back! It’s been a while, but CIG mission is up and running for the new year. We’re a little bit bigger this year, 19 young people, and there are lots of new missionaries, though still a few familiar faces.

These past few weeks have been a real adventure. After driving cross-country from New York, we finally arrived in Las Vegas to attend a lecture training workshop. Here we have spent hours studying God’s Word and practicing giving lectures to each other one on one as preparation for the work we will do in our mission countries. We have also received guidance on public speaking and being able to clearly convey the heart and content behind our words.

It’s been a lot of hard work and investment, but we’ve had a lot of fun. After church service on Sunday, our workshop facilitator and instructor, Rev. Compton, took us on an excursion to the Red Rock Canyon outside of the city. We were able to spend several hours exploring, romping, and enjoying the wonder and beauty of God’s creation. We finished the night with a nice buffet meal, a treat from the Reverend, and we ended the night with some further preparations for the upcoming lecture competition.
